"I'm too cool for school" said the poet as he put down his pen "I'm sick of all the old institutions and I'm an artistic revolution 'THE BEST WORDS IN THE BEST ORDER' but they don't mean, they don't mean a thing and the worst words are always far more interesting AND THE WORST WORDS ARE ALWAYS FAR MORE INTERESTING". Sit down and laugh as they take him away I promise we'll love each other some day meanwhile, just audible from the ballroom across the street, the playful exuberance of the jazz band. "Welcome aboard, hope you enjoy the flight. This is your co-pilot speaking. The captain has just spilt his jack and coke and his shoes are falling apart. Your flight attendants are the unborn children of lunatics. The inflight movie tonight is classified unsuitable for those with weak constitutions. There is no way to get comfortable in your seat, so give up trying. I hate every single one of you but I will not crash the plane because of this. Buckle up, we're ready to go. Buckle up, buckle up." Exit the bright lights and the fear of death and into the boiling dusk an inferno of arrest and capture an inspiration carressed now fractured now where is he going? and where has he gone? was his mistake such a terrible wrong? He's dragged to the courthouse the wrath of the law, the sheriff sits down and takes a terrible pause, rubs a mouth that is greased with filthy disease, picks at his head and breathes in a weeze now he coughs and he splutters and wipes himself down, he squints his eyes blindly and straightens his gown, and says Well you can't buy me happiness but you can buy me alcohol and the bottle gives me everything, the solution to it all Why care for the ones you love when the drugs will see you through? Self-destruction is your habit now, it's everything you do and I said "This is our love song - feel free to dance." Not exactly a poem. Comments? |

wow...it looks like a rap song...it has rythm and rhyme...it's angry...and entertaining also...(for me, amyways) i almost laughed at the third part/verse (whatever u want to call it, the one about the co-pilot) very nice. =) River A river of change is rushing over me, through me. Forfeit to the waters, forget the past, live in the present. [This message has been edited by River (10-11-2003 07:38 PM).] |

gp? this is brilliant! Mannn reminds me of Morrison truly, try to get "An American Prayer" you will adore it! This write so many inclinations, so much to be said but this: the sheriff sits down and takes a terrible pause, rubs a mouth that is greased with filthy disease, pretty much says it all what mind numbing imagery very well written indeed xxoo |
