I bent myself, so that I would fit This didn’t work for you Why did I think it would for me? Sometimes I can only wonder If everything is how I feel… When you reach the end I’ll be waiting here for you We’re just water after all Burn me down a solemn temple And blow out another river I smelled the heat, so that I would glow This never worked for me Why did you think it would work for you? Sometimes I can only dream Of having to connect for you… When you look my way I’ll be touching sober ground We’re just fire after all Build me up a mighty stature And then send me on my way |

I really liked this a lot. Your opening line "I bent myself, so that I would fit" really got my attention by as a very familiar sensation. How many times have we all tried to shape ourselves to fit into someone's life or exptectations. Enjoyed the read very much! |
