Whenever you needed me... I tried. Throughout your self-righteous existance... I failed. Did I complain? Was I really that bad? Your depressions, Your angers, Your tempestuous attitudes, But still I tried. Not one complaint, Never a bad word. I apologise for failing you, I lament your choices, But I was there, Through good and bad, Right and wrong... I tried. I'm sorry for failing you, I act contrite for asking questions. And now, as I sit alone, My life slowly ebbing from my wrists, Humanity circling out of existance, I hope this is good enough for you, For you see... I succeeded. "Our Father who art in Heaven... Hallowed be thy name..." |

This is terrific. I feel as though I am who you write about in your poem. Tried but ultimately failed self - thank you. P |
