Etched in the illusion of time

shadow of a shadow of a shadow
dreamt within the lines
begging daylight to
hush

and pray with musty hands

common senses rust
years torn by-
aged
the demon inside myself
is me

hush

not your own worst enemy,
but more

listen

shadow of a shadow of a shadow
purgatory stirs
restless souls among us
are you one of them too?
