Someday I will wake up above the horizon in the place of an ancient star. - Gu Cheng This is the hour when night becomes a primordial void in the dominion of vacancy before the time of time began. In this dreaming silence man is reborn in an oceanic world, unbound by the rules of gravity and the geometries of light and air. There are no roots or fossils nor footholds in this seabed. All is adrift, shapeless, and ever-changing yet eternal in the soundlessness. There are no roads or hidden passages, no golden spiral stairs, only undulating currents and the boundless gifts of tides. Awash in seamless reveries, what can never be becomes what is to end the martyrdom of those who feasted on oxygen in the earth's unbreathable air. |

Thank you very much, LadyTom. Came across Gu Cheng’s “Nameless Flowers” in the bargain book bin and couldn’t resist. My first exposure to work by the “Misty Poets”. |
