(feel free to skip) It's been a long time since I wrote anything. I tend to get complacent at times. Anyway.....the poem. I've always been an imaginative person. I don't know why, but it's something that has hindered me in some cases, and helped me in some. This poem is about the influence my imagination holds on me. Well.....enjoy. Standing in awe, before what cannot be seen I live my life in childish dreams My imagination is an endless sea And I fear one day, it will drown me Kept awake by hopeless wishes To force reality into submission I entrust my heart to a shooting star Knowing that it won't get me far I feel my existence fade away As the dreams within me have their way But if dreams can never be truly grasped Then why am I so focused on the task They whisper to you, they scream to me To chase a final fantasy Magical words fill my brain And I wonder if I'll simply go insane Maybe the dreams are only the start Of a life beginning to fall apart Or maybe I'll fall to sleep tonight And simply disappear from sight "One last drink and the bottle breaks, returning us to the dust from whence we came" |

I liked this poem and often its the way I sometimes feel.It may need some work but I'm not a pro at picking out some of the more little things that someone with more experience might be able to do but I felt like it was from your soul which to me makes it a very interesting poem to read. dragoon |

I'm glad someone was able to relate to it. I was never good at tweaking things myself either. -TW "One last drink and the bottle breaks, returning us to the dust from whence we came" |
