Trust is Earned

I had given you my heart and soul,
and completely trusted you with it.

Only to have you lie to me and crush me,
leaving a bloody mess in the path of life.

Excuses don't work, you did what you did,
there is no way to cover it up.

Mere words can not express the loss I feel,
or the hole that has been left.

Yet I go on another day, trying to repair the damage,
that you caused.

Trust is lost and pain has taken it's place,
trust is something earned, not just given.

The tears finally fell and have stained my face,
the love I felt, is there any trace.

Only time will tell if the wounds will close,
and the sun will shine again.

not bad but you should go more in depth with the pain you feel
