It's only the truth until we've been shown that it's really all just a lie.... We are always free until it is known That there are walls we're trapped behind... So open your minds to what I must say This isn't Hell's lullaby... The truth, it is near Freedom has arrived Turn from their assembly lines. They look at me with fear in their eyes Don't be afraid of that which you don't know and sugar-coated smiles on their faces. Hiding behind faces made of stone They smile and say "Have a very nice day" sweet child there's nothing to fear while pulling their children behind their backs. there is no hatred in here Beaten and bruised and left in the road Get up and walk with me tonight. Look in my eyes Feel my smile Know that this will be alright. I'm not a fiend Nor am I a liar I'm just a soul that's been through the fire. There is more to worry about More to fear Than ignorance and lunatics invading our lives. We will look at this frightening world Can't seem to find the doorway out and realize it's all been an anxious dream. Can't seem to open up my eyes They will smile and say "Have a very empty day" Their eyes remain like broken glass And the children will fade into the cold and empty light Their soulless bodies fade and disappear Hold my hand I will help you understand The difference between what you see and what you'll really find. I have not lived the lifestyle of a saint But I am not a product of hell's hateful fires They may not have killed nor may they have raped But they are not wearing angel's wings upon their corporate shoulders. We are just here living human lives Trying to learn our soulful lessons without thievery and knives. We will open our frightened eyes Open the door to reality and see the truth for what it is Open our souls to avoid the darkness of eternity They will smile and say "Have a true day" Shattered glass falls to the floor and their children will wave and smile and say the same Shattered souls mend and drift out the door |

Seeker... thanks doll! The original format had some stuff italicized but I can't do that here (or haven't figured it out yet) so it's not as clean as I'd like it. The spacing got screwed up, too. It's the little things that annoy me. (yes, I'm a complete dork) And for the record, my family likes to pretend I'm somone else's dead relative hehe. |

Ah the old "dead relative" routine, have to love that one. |
