~Revision~ .. there are monsters inside

With pure adhevsive
of nothing other than
my fear that adheres
to the monsters I keep.

They are passive here
Daunting me from a
distance that i can never
grasp... like the sinking
sand that pulls me out
of my mind and pushes
me out into the wilds of my world.

The goldfish that always
stares seems soothing to
the part of you who keeps
taking the pain ...

Remembering every silence
that screamed up at you when
you try to make sense of
this place you are at.

Where Oz seems sane
and your home is the last
place you can think of that
would make you feel safe.

Pieces keep floating off
and I keep blowing a wish
by each and every ounce
that I pray I will NEVER
see again...

And if i'm gifted...
I'll learn to
color in the monsters
with something other
than myself ...

I don't know why this poem wasn't responded to...I think its excellent...but, it's really deep and one has to read it more than once and become immersed in it to taste its true flavour..I found each time I re-read it I enjoyed it more. You know how busy people are making themselves today...multitasking is the latest drug of choice...and I know how disheartening it is when you post a poem...most of which are pieces of our souls and no one takes the time to read them...don't give up on us, looks like you have good things to share.

Carman... I apologize for not posting... I am new to the site and have my own crap going on inside of my head. It really is a fabulous poem. I don't apologize unless I believe I am in the wrong and I definately am. I am a rather selfish, self-centered person so I forget things sometimes.

I also have to say that I respect you... you spoke out! You stated your thoughts and feelings and that is the type of person that I am. For that you have earned my respect, as well!

I don't quite know what to say...I keep looking back at the poem and I something new comes to mind. For now I'll suffice with this is exceptional. Thank you for sharing it. simone
