her soft feminine face framed by an extreme butch cut gave her a look as conflicted as my emotions when it seemed her rough cotton scrubs took on a different sheen as her green eyes filled with compassion acknowledged the grief reflected in mine two decades of experience and a world of preferences apart suddenly joined by an electric connection across the forbidden where attraction’s heart shape never considers similarities or differences never demands more than love freely offered love freely given across later wires in conversations protracted by elongated pauses and my drawn out juvenile hesitation and innocence sanity returned and her professionalism disconnecting her desire with the reluctant prescription take care |
