It’s not the darkness I fear Though the light stays on all night It’s not the loneliness I abhor It’s that something is just not right The smile is gone The laughter faded Rose colored glasses Are dark and jaded It’s not the touch of humanity That makes me ache with pain It’s not the lack of touch that makes me Cry out again and again The sun is hidden behind Drapes drawn against the light Nothingness sticks in my throat There’s no desire in me to fight It’s not the sound of your voice I miss Or the laughter we enjoyed It’s the nothingness of this life This life called my void. |

It's a surprise to see you here Dark, Sharon, but you express the darkness well. I recognize that void only too well. Here's to smiles in your future... Michael |

I just read Elia Kazan's "The Arrangement" (and thanks for letting us know in announcements about his passing too, btw) but in that novel, the protagonist completely and deliberately sabotages his own outwardly appearing successful life for the simple reason that it no longer served the inner person that he had become. He stated that "in order for there to be a resurrection, there has to first be a death." (metaphorical of course) I'm trying very hard to believe that is true for me, as well as for YOU. Hugs Sharon. Here's to the future, yes? This is an excellent purge of inner demons. |

Sometimes plodding through that darkness makes it easier to recognize the glimmer of light on the other side... May yours shine brightly, my friend... |

"Nothingness sticks in my throat There’s no desire in me to fight" Sharon...believe me when I say...I know this... And, what Karen said...I hope that's true for all of us. Understanding hugs to you, my friend... It's good to see you writing. When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace. -Jimi Hendrix [This message has been edited by vlraynes (09-29-2003 05:39 PM).] |

Sometimes the rose colored glasses have to come off. Dark is a state of mind sometimes and that seems to be where mine is right now. Thank you for taking the time to read and reply. My muse appreciates it as do I. And now I have to go and feed her. She's chained up in the storage room so she doesn't leave again! |
