It feels good to shut the door
at the end of the workday,
not let it spill over into evening,
to lie prone and still and learn
to spread my mind wide,
as the universe is.

I cannot fly like a bird,
except in wild, free dreams.
At the height where the birds disappear
I  see clouds make pointed angel wings
that stream past the sunset,
then shred into plain gray clouds.

When night comes,
I am content looking up
at a thin moon pricked through the clouds
and stars shaped like people and animals
dancing the earth’s dances.
They are the avis of earth’s turning.

I see in the dark, a denser dark following me.
Soon darkness embraces me.
I fall asleep as the halogen beams
of light disappear on a breath of wind.

I don't mean to dishonor this poem by saying what is obvious but " Nice Work".

"One last drink and the bottle breaks, returning us to the dust from whence we came"
