I Can Remember

I can remember
when you
were as if a part of me
My own blood coursing through my veins.
But I lost my grace when I couldn't make you happy
The deepest part of me spoke out of pain.

Wishing things were different
Really wishing I didn't feel the things I do
things aren't the same anymore
But I still wish all good things for you.

So many misunderstandings,
harsh words said
If I could take them back
where they didn't echo in your head
You've got to know I sure would.
I know you hurt me so bad, and if I could
forget those things, I would.

I want to say I was wrong,
and If I had words to say that would undo
I would pray that for your good,
even though you don't believe me; it's true!
A potion, a prayer, that would take you there
where hurt, and pain you would not bare.
That place where you knew I care.

Sure, yes, it's true, lots of water is under the bridge
No longer do we either feel the same
And it's all so far away,
But there's no need for blame.

We both have looked back,
we have our regrets
Let's grow from our mistakes
Learn from it all.

I believe in you
On You I would bet!!!
I want us both to be happy
Leave each other standing tall.

Even though there's been hurt for both of us without measure
I want to thank you for what you gave me; that I will always treasure.
