Standing In Silence...

0 posted 2006-11-01 04:58 PM

The silence echoes my loneliness
Even though you’re right next to me.
And now I know….
We’re slipping apart….

Did you ever stop to think of,
When you’re sitting there shouting,
How painful your words are?
How low you make me feel?

DO I DO THAT TO YOU?
DO I THROW YOUR MISTAKES
BACK IN YOUR FACE?

Over and over….and over…

It’s worse then making them….

JUST STOP!!
I want to scream...
But I don’t.
My mouth stays resolutely shut.

(Days…maybe weeks later...I can’t remember...)

The smell of your cologne…
The touch of your skin…
Random memories wash through me…
And I sigh…

And I gather my loneliness around me,
And reflect upon the price I paid…
The price of my freedom,
Freedom from bleeding…
Bleeding for you.
My price of healing.

"My soul is adrift in oceans of madness
Repairing the rift that you have created"~ Disturbed

"I shut my eyes and hold my cries to myself"~ Taproot
