A serpentine squeezing off of reality --constriction-- of breath and thought tiny flicks and shudders (but nothing uttered) and in the silence the attack lies on an icy tongue. Sickly green gaze floods out from a cavernous place, ensnares my cowered form and pulls up the howling fear-- the moments drag and tighten (what’s the use of fighting?) as the tears rage forth into the mouth of madness. * * * * It has slithered away to seclusion...for now. And the sting of the bite has numbed-- but the deepest flesh is dying mired in the poison. ~*Krista Lee Knutson*~ |
