She's asleep now and I wonder what she dreams. If i could crawl inside her head what would I see? Imagine it now, you crawl inside and you hear some voices, faces twisted in fear as sleep comes on and you succumb finally to forces of nature There's a guy standing there now, and she knows she knew him once - yeah it becomes final for her when he asks "why did you leave me when you promised we'd be together forever?" She's been in love before, no doubt, and when she puts her hand in his she feels something primordial and new to her as they embrace again I will never leave you again you think I need you I want you I love you you think As she sleeps there I so want to tap her, to grind my knuckles against her sternum to wake her from the dream and pull her back to reality to remind her of the dark that's still around her. I'd grab her and shake her awake with all my might and she'd see the old familiar form of the guy she met last night holding her there reminding her that there's nothing there but him -- not because I want her or something, but because I want her to remember that it's all inside of her Aw, forget about it. She wakes up on her own, eyes slowly opening while I stand over her, gazing down on her covered body like a doctor studying somebody's past guilt. I can imagine it: she wakes up and she realizes, heart still pounding with excitement as she meets her long-lost nonexistent lover, that it was all a dream, that it was all inside of her and nowhere else. Disappointment She looks up at me. "what are you doing?" She laughs at me, "you stupid little boy!" and she's asleep again and I have to go back to work again and she dreams again |

You've described so well dreams, our mysterious fantasies that both hide and reveal desires of the heart. |
