Hated love

Is this good enough for you?
I hate the way we hate
I destroy love and we're through
As our passion begins to disintegrate

But was it me this time?
Or am I simply taking blame?
This was your fault, your crime
But to you it's all the same

Give you my heart
You give me a glare
Tell you I'll never depart
You say you don't care

So fine if you want to kill me inside
But you know, it's too late
I've already died
So you can keep your precious hate

Hold another for a few hours
You'll come crying back
But the love turns sour
And in compassion we lack

So better off without your face
But I can't seem to let go
Though I often feel erased
I have to love you so

Nothing has ever meant much to me
But the day we met
From this curse I wish to be free
That your presence I'll forget

But you bind my soul
You pierce my sight
You have a death hold
In the darkest of nights

You're with someone else again
But I can't let you leave
This is my thorn and your sin
So in me believe

When I say it this time
I truly mean it
I'm through with our "prime"
And I finally quit

We're through

nice write! I always think "love" is a word thats thrown around too casually. Just because someone says it to you, doesn't mean it's how they really feel. Your poem reminded me of how fickle some human emotions really are.

I really like this poem. Yeah i have to agree with the person above me. I had people say they loved me when they didn't, but it just kindda lost it's meaning for me.
