He stands with a cruel smile on his face Humorously wondering who wants grace? Wallowing in the gleefull enjoyment of inflicting This horrid torture, suffering on his victim In him the demon screams its need Admiring this masterpeice, its perfect seed He has long ago left his morals, his worries Staring at the blood drenched slaughtered bodies All that consumes him now is his lust of blood Vengance unleashed on the world as a flood His heart is dead and black as coal Only cruel heartless sadistic hatred in soul The darkness that lurks in your nightmare Killing you with the evil of its glare He is the voice of evil, the embodyment of fears In his wake all thats left are bitter tears In him there is no love From slain enemies are his gloves He seeks only his own gain Bringing to the world naught but pain Stood against him have the men of this earth Now they lie forgotten, but a tale for the hearth His power from beyond the grave Gone are those who acted foolish, acted brave Of pain and destruction he seeks more He is death, pain and war From him the harbinger of doom The end will come so soon Never for him a sympathetic ear hurt and torn, on his face a single tear In the soft ligh of dawn He stands alone, forlorn In his soul some thing stirs Hope? Love? Happiness? nothin but a blurr And slowly and painfully he watches it die For whats lost in him, no one cries. Regarding the world with pure animosity His name is atrocity A sign in the wind The fatal last breath Soft prelude to death Alone Amidst black roses [This message has been edited by Digital_Hell (08-09-2006 10:07 AM).] |

Hey Digital_hell, Amazing poem, and I'm not just saying that. It takes a lot to absorb everything you've said, I believe that even if I read this poem over and over and over, etc, I'd never understand it completely. It’s a very in-depth sort of poem to read, if you know what I mean. I loved the darkness of the whole thing, of how "he" forgets his morals and falls away from who "he" used to be. It was another interesting read by you and I hope that you'll continue posting more, sooner rather than later since I see you haven't posted in awhile... Thanks for sharing this delicious read "I pray thee, O God, that I |

This reminds me of a poem I wrote about someone selling their soul to Satan, in exchange for power. Atrocity is indeed a force unto itself, and it is a shame the world is afflicted with it. Unfortunatly, it would seem as if our worst nature gets the best of us all to often. Good use of imagery and rhyme, although the rhyme scheme could have been a bit more varied. Good job. |
