I scratched my head
And felt the soft skin under my hair
A little bit of dandriff fell from me
Me, this soul, searching, out from behind a mask
Peek-a-boo

The wedding day
All dressed in white
Grass in the yard bright green
Inside a white picket fense around a white house
A tree and family scarcely standing on the walkway

Loud music
I remember it
Loud music with the bells tinkling and jingling

Counted the rest of my life
My face in the mirror with a big fat smile
Under the deeply hidden eyeballs within my skull

Its business
The business and the strings
That sometimes snap
You've convinced yourself you are a God
And forgotten that you are not

What we don't know...
The details that matter so much...
They didn't forget...
Pop!!
I'm stretched across the floor,
And my account reads zero

Praise God
Let Him bless my adoring ones for this mess
Eternally satisfied
Thy Will be done

To wrestle is to live; to fight is to love.

That was excellent! It was evocative, although I confess I didn't understand it entirely. It felt like the subject kept twisting off in really unexpected ways. Unusual poem, but very good!

Excellently written. It is unusual and different, but i enjoyed reading it a lot.

"You've convinced yourself you are a God
And forgotten that you are not"

I enjoyed this part a lot. All too often do people believe they are god. Well done!

hells gate reads Abandon hope all ye that enter here
shall we go?
the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Will you walk with me?

Hey Green_itchy_stuff,

Amazing poem, I enjoyed reading it. It was something unique... I love how in all of your poems, or all of the ones I have seen, you add God into it somewhere. I like that.

I also must confess I'm not sure I understood all of this either but I did like reading it. It is something that makes you think. With the descriptions and everything you really get into the poem, you start imagining it in your mind...

Thanks so much for sharing, I can't wait to read more
