Doctor, doctor, I’ve got a case of the blues, Is there anything you can do? I’ve got voices in my head, Talking me to death, I wish I were dead, My soul is a wreak. The pain I feel permeates the bones, Raped by my personal demons, And left all alone, I have no place else to go, Where am I to flee? I opened the gates of hell inadvertently. My soul set alight, By the fires of purgatory, Tortured by my mind, In the setting of my dormitory. Locked in the fetal position, Trying to sleep, Lying on my bed, Impossible to weep. My eyes are shut, But my brain awake, I can’t help but feel that I made a mistake, All the weed that I smoked, All the dreams I forgot, All the lessons I forsook, All the doors that I locked, I look at the clock, It is time to see the doctor, With bloodshot eyes, I do my best to go out there. I open up the door, The light permeates my brain, And realize once again what it is like to be insane. |

I love the sense of despair in this poem. You get your message across beautifully. |
