Laying alone still with fear Hearing sounds no child should hear Sounds of violence a scream, a shout Savage anger bursting out Creeping out into the hall Huddled down beside the wall Tears of pain frustration too Nothing I, a child, can do Gone to bed still awake Too much more than I can take Tears may dry scars may mend But will my hatred ever end? Still hear sounds block them out No more pain no more doubt Thoughts and feelings left behind I've gone away inside my mind |

Very nice poem.... the rhyme is great... But don't you just sometimes wish you could rip the memory out of a person? Oh well. A brilliant and heartfelt piece. |

Only someone whom have lived through this type of life expereince can write about something so hurtfull. The pain will end when you stop it....you are in control of your own feelings!! Great Write!!!! |

Oh what we wouldn’t give to be able to erase I memories! It did have great flow in it, which I loved. Sometimes it’s hard to find poems with flow like this, I mean, not here on pip, but … well, yeah… nvm This poem was awesome btw! It was so sad though when you read this you just have to cry for the little kids out there that see this happening you wish they didn’t have to go through such pain… I think that the way you worded this captured the reader and made them feel for the child. I liked that about poems, how you can read them and have things come alive in your mind and appear so real… Great write on this one, I loved it @-->--- |

"Thoughts and feelings left behind I've gone away inside my mind" what a beautiful, haunting poem. And, might I add, if this is a true story, what a strong person you must be. MUCH LOVE. ~cheye |

I was the child I wrote about. And unfortunately, I don't feel like I am a strong person. All too often, I still feel afraid, helpless, lost. But maybe someday........ ^*^Angel^*^ |

You express yourself very well. I can relate to many of your lines in this poem. Writing I believe is an avenue to healing. |

Thanks! Songbird, you're right. Writing is an avenue to healing, but I still have a long way to travel on that road. ^*^Angel^*^ |

Thanks martyjo. It's nice to know people care. Alot of days I have to remind myself that there are some good people in the world. I guess I've known too many of the wrong ones. Angel |
