I have ridden out the storm, Hidden from the maelstrom, Bidden my time, And sailed the seas back to where I came from. To some extent, My mind is healed, Mistaken I was, When I thought my fate was sealed, I overlooked that thing called hope, When all of that time I was a deluded dope. Now I have thrown away the rope, Destroyed the gallows, But while I have changed, The seas remain shallow. I will never be the person I was, Before my walls came crashing down, I have some room to gloat because, I discovered I don’t have to be the clown, I can choose my role, On the worlds stage, And despite that epiphany, The horror remains, Of steering clear, Of hiding my fear, Of loosing my mind, Loosing that which I hold dear, Precious as gold, It is something I must hold, For all our time is fleeting, And I am still growing old. It is never to late to change, Something I knew, But now I finally learned it, And have let it stew, I have discovered where, To find my peace of mind, So it is time for me to leave, It is time for me drive, Towards the destiny I once lacked, When I finally cracked, All it took was a heavy slap, To awake me from my dream, And finally I have realized, The whole experience was a nap. |

this was a very cool write. i love the way it ended up being all a dream... i also liked the rhyme scheme you used, well executed. Good Write, look forward to another Life is a torment and torment an enigma. So burn the shackles of slavery and let love run free |
