Solitude Why is it that I crave solitude, The serene of silence The emptiness of the world The absence of life? The noise of nature is too much Too imposing Penetrating every layer of isolation Destroying the essence of seclusion I need a place for reflection A place to sort my thoughts Away from the intrusion of the nosy And the accusations of the prosecutors A place void of everyone but me Small, dark and cool To separate me from them The ones who don’t understand Let me bear my pain alone Nurse the scars of yesterday myself While the music blares noiselessly And the rain outside steadily falls Let the dark cool wash over me Erasing the unwanted memories Until all I have is me And the infinite depths of my mind ~~Poetry is written emotion~~ |
