Christmas comes but once each year
But the memories last
Swirling in your head like snow
Dizzying and fast.

It’s supposed to offer hope
And light to those ones lost
But Christmas brings a lot of pain
To many souls of frost.

Christmas brings me memories
Of betrayal tolls
A weight I am now forced to bear
Of drunken, greedy souls.

There is no way of coping
I’ve tried them every one
For all that helps is cutting wounds
So full of confusion.

i sincerely hope that you are not experiencing this right now, but if you are please know that you can email me if you ever just need to talk to someone who has been in this very place at this very time of year. and i can tell you i have gone from being at the very bottom to finally being ready to make new Christmas memories because i let Christ into my life.

Hi there, Just wanted to say that simply by being here you are coping - yep by what ever means you can cope you 'just' are... look at it this way, life can and will get better if you allow it, memories of the past are so hard to cope with believe me I know! but you define your life now, do not let those memories defeat you, there are many many happy memories to come - you just need to let them slip in - unexpectedly...

the holidays seem to magnify both pain and pleasure
heart hugs to you, for the whole month of December often brings me more pain than pleasure
and yet? I seek the bright moments as if they were the most treasured treats of all time

I know what that's like. Christmas always brings such painful memories to me as well.
