---+ Well, people, here it is: My first submission in God knows how long. I hope you like it. It was a fairly quick write, so pardon the general lack of substance+--- In the pale purple light, Of the twilight sky - I saw the perfect vision of grace; Saw a vision of angels dying... And one cried out to me, With mouth agape - It plead for mercy; It plead for pity... Its screams split the Heavens, Oh, such a mighty thunder - Such angels God can not save; And I care not... In the pale purple light, Of the twilight sky - I saw the perfect end to reason; Saw your God giving up... And he looked to me with a smile, The scorn of millenia set upon his face - There was nothing more that he could do; And I laughed, joyed by the thought... Oh, how the Earth trembled then, Unsure of its fate - The maker of all was made a fool; And I care not... In the pale purple light, Of the twilight sky - I saw the ruins of man; Saw the nature of life... And the lost souls spoke, Saying, 'please, please, go' - They merely wanted to go home; But I burned the path... Ah, how purgatory crumbled, Shattered by my cold - It prayed for my help; And I care not... In the pale purple light, Of the twilight sky - I saw the greatest revenge; Saw God, angels and souls... And they came for me, flocking, One by one with grief - They merely wanted my end; Oh, how reluctant I was... Lo', how my mind quaked, Their wills far too great - Lord, Lord, they called me home; And I care not. Jeremy - |
