I Let My Soul Cry

In the darkness of your room
I danced in gardens of gloom.
I raised my hands to the sky
and let my soul cry.
I tasted your air
and inhaled the bittersweet scent of your hair.
I left my innocents outside your door.
and tiptoed barefoot across the floor
I pretended you were there
gracing space with your charming glare.
I painted your walls with my fears
and a handful of tears.
They make a lovely color
for your selfishness to devour.
I slid into your favorite shirt
to make believe I had the power
as I dug a whole
and buried my soul
in your cold dirt.

I left it there

bleeding

and

screaming

Just for you, My Dear.
