I can see a cigarette
Smell it, but not smoke
Mutter, disgust, curse, foolish
Personal rage music must express
Deafening fool strike top chess

On a personal level, but can you hear
One phrase of many pause
The promises of God and curses of men
Up on the ledge slip smooth past
Everything on a page, silent if unread

What do you say to a foolish one?
A plastic brain?
Can you make them listen to the truth?
Or will they mock you "idiot?"
Follow God's voice here outside normal

Praise the eternal reign, the Father; Jesus Christ; and the Holy Spirit.
