After the deluge ends and the pumps kick in to drain the city that was drowned, drained of all she once was, where will she rise again? Some believe she shall arise again resume business as usual but is it time to reevaluate? How can the people rebuild upon sinking land, where Mother Nature cannot be held back. How can you stop it from resinking a city that is below sea level... upon what solid foundation can a new New Orleans be built? How high must the levee be to hold back another push from the sea? It's understandable that no one wants to address these issues right away, while evacuation and rescue efforts are still under way today. But somewhere down the road someone is going to have to answer some really tough questions. Where will the new New Orleans be? |
