When I look
And actually see
I've noticed what you've done to me
How everyone seems so far away
And when my friends
Become my family
I realize what you've done to us
Divided we have fallen
Them only to get up again
Me I had to struggle
Had to learn to walk again
Still divided
I've come to understand
They will never be my family
Not anymore
Because my friends are the only ones
The ones I trust
The ones I love
Yet still I'm broken
Uncertain
Maybe this is the end
Prehapse it is a new begining
But me
I'm stuck in between
Barely living
Trying to understand
What happened between a child
And a man
Blaming myself
Yet starting to see
That maybe
Just maybe
It wasn't me
When I look
And actually see
I notice that no one
Can see me
I hide behind my masks
Behind my smile
Behind my eyes
Hoping for rescue
Tourtured by my mind
My body shows its battles
And yet I'm still ok
So I face another day
Alone
But surrounded

a once broken spirit has new wings~
yet the soul still hides for
the heart still sings~
of fear~
allowing only pain
by keeping memories near~
forgive yourself
and the chains shall fall~
then spirit, soul and heart
will be as one
as you shine above all~
with a light
so bright`~
darkness and fear
shall never again come near~
your spirit shall fly free
and strong~
your heart and soul
will be singing your song~
of life and love
along with his words
from the heavens above~

My spirit will rise
above the sea~
There will be no drowning
of my soul or me~

I'm glad that my poem has touched anyone. I will not give up on my writing or on any friends I have made here. And maybe once I get my life back on track I will post here again. Until then let this be enough.

I can relate to this well. One day I hope to rid myself of all my masks, because I'm not sure what has become of myself inbetween being a boy and becoming a man. Touching piece and painful words.

Powerful. it choked me up bringing back pain that i'd forgotten. i know how you feel, but time will heal things and so will the heart. Thanks for sharing this piece.
