The man parts from his cage Atrophied slugs learning to move again The ribs are untangled and rebuilt Because the tissue could no longer breathe Wobbling without the friendship cane The organs blare and the flesh repaired The pump is just a statue now An existence from the vile cell An answer to cubical demented hell One day you’ll find your answer Growing from the great cognizance And robbed with cancer Then departed he from steel bars, thrust Rained onto storm drains sewer rust The handcuffs they insisted were a must Held in metals deep, fetish trust A freedom you should dare not lust Knees now brittle, declutched with gust A cage is a place where the wounded go Escaping not so often To remember what they ought not know A cage is a place that the damned do trust Where memories fade And a single tear drop grows a frame of rust A cage is a place where the homeless home Because they know The dogs may bark, but they do not foam… |

Thank you for the response. I like how you look at it, but often the only way to deal with life is to find yourself a cage, for me I happened to be my own cage. |

this reminded me of what that one chick said in Lord of the Rings 2 towers...about fearing a cage - being locked up untill tears and old age learn to accept the bars. (or something like it) gr8 write....i like. =) - River Love hurts as bad as it feels good. |

I understand, I'm in a cage as well, but its constructed of scales, chords, and Imagination. What could be better? GIS All that is great once was small. |

This reminds me so much of a poem I wrote about a cave being a safe dwelling place. Sometimes we put our ownselves in that place not even realizing it. :'( Not a fun place to be. Just gotta keep the spirit! Love, Terri~ |
