An evil energy is consuming reality
Destructing all I've ever known
It starts as a shadow ~ created within
Burning my conscience to useless ashes.

Obstructed by the darkness
I decided to give in,
To run away and leave it all behind;
All the while ~ I hide my evil smile.

A source of confusion has entered my dead mind
Eating away at my most treasured memories.
I try to force it all away ~ but
End up feeding my damn addiction.

An unknown creature has become my ally.
We swim through my ashes
And resurface in the immortal world.
All the while ~ I hide my malevolent smile.

**I think the title needs some help...**

"I'm just me, trapped in a body."
