Something inside that pushes Against the popular pull Staring straight into the end of a point Sharp and straight for miles Just trying to take it all in And then it branches Comes around beside Another comes behind I have to see the end of these structures Step back to see farther, Longer One of these spikes woddles into my skin Pokes a hole in my body And oddly enough I can see farther distance Down the tube Another branch and I'm dropped into a maze Trying to see the world around me Blurry to the point of blindness With abstract debris This cluster builds to tension It became a fight A constant struggle Funny thing is, I'm used to it Just on the unconnected side of things. ..."Just on the unconnected side of things". 'Twould seem more likened to you being slightly beyond the limelight. When that popularity hits you, just remember to stay slightly beyond the limelight and "just on the unconnected side of things"... and you'll be not only okay, but alright! Great, great poem. I enjoyed this one from start to finish! Wings bruised from turning away in such confined space...Not broken...still healable...still feathered with life, somewhere |
