Living with fear Swirls of purple mist Rob the light from life Anchored to my nightmare My mind in painful sickness Covered by dusty fetid veil Too heavy to lift alone Dying to die in peace Unable to draw last breath Ugly images become bland Nothing tastes or smells Indifference numbs the pain Emptiness sleeps beside me Eaten up inside my mind My soul escaped my shell Depressions wretched grasp Has stolen me again |

You've described so well the feelings that come over one when depression wraps you in its darkness. Asia |

maggie, thank you so much. i found it lol. Depression is one of the main reasons i write poetry as it was one of the few ways i found to express the darkness. this is probably the third or fourth poem i have written on this subject and i am sure i will write more. thank you for taking time to tell me your thoughts on this one and your good wishes. you have given me a smile .... :0) hugs june x |

aw june, this is indeed a heartbreaker. and since you have read Maggie's reply, I'm going to feel free to delete that, k? But just so all is not lost, I copied it for the two of you: "This is so sad June, if you were near I would give you a big hug. You have written it with such flair I was sorry it was short. Maggie" There ya go! With hugs for the two of you too! |
