Blue-lined faces, Pretend smiles, all the while, Glitter, glue, stickers, Making pretty what was blank and childish, Stylish. Link arms, Parade the table top, If you look closer, We are pretty much similar. Thin and crinkled, Generated thoughts and voices, Destroyed by the fire, Lit by the government, Made to believe we have choices, Live these lives? Or die by protest? Light a match, up in flames, Gone to waste, Our paper doll images. Paper thin frames, Paper doll friends, That’s all we are. Driven by amusement, Us paper dolls, Got to stick together, Even if only by linked arms and glued ridges. Note: I didn't think this one was dark, but it's unfamiliar to post anywhere else. Hollow, I'll bet you'd be welcomed in another forum. I like this piece. Nice analogies and lots of food for thought. Well done. Thanks. And, by the way, fun tagline. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again. |

"Gone to waste...our paper doll images"... yes, hollow, this belongs in dark!~and I loved it. Simply incredible word selection on this one and an awesome job of conveying the title's image in the poem. Really made me think about that glue we use to bond! Lose one friend... Lose all friends... Lose Yourself... |

AHHH!! absolutely LOVED it! it wasnt as dark as your others, but it didnt need to be dark..it was brlliant without darkness.. lol, i love this poem to death! i think its my favourite, just because its just such a cool poem.. with love and darkness, Kirsty. p.s i am so saving this one "Why are you wearing that stupid man suit?"-Frank from Donnie Darko |
