Periodical Divisions Inclemency awakens, and reaches forth, yawping, a great big opened mouth yawn. Gone is barefooted strolls o'er the beaches, and Sol's radiance has slightly withdrawn. The passive child has shrugged off her bedspread, for the themes in her mind are no longer, afraid to rouse. And she leaves nothing unsaid, as her voice doth grow a little stronger. Winter cocoons into butterfly spring. Petite cold rivers over-spill gutters, and the robin sings his linguistic string, while with, "Thief, thief, thief," the blue jay mutters. Coarsely, the blasting, cleaving wind, doe-like urges, spring out of the sturdy hunter green of the timberland to drink at stream. In those waters lives the great northern pike, and it seems he does not swim, but saunter. For with a slap of his tail he ploughs upstream. Those waters run into endless summer, chasing after some unnoticed drummer. Like the vapor shifting with erotic restlessness from a well-deserved steam bath, they wrap up the world in blankets of mist, shroud the canopy of trees in a veil. Yea that mental image is exotic, and mayhap we're walking a primrose path, but it seems every blossom's been kissed, by liquid sunshine o'er hill and o'er dale. Shafts of light hug shoulders disburdened of sweaters and we welcome the warm caress. 'Tis a season made for kisses and love, 'tis a season made for the purple cress. Bare feet squelch between little toes new mud, while supple mouths kiss naked napes of necks. Yet it is all too soon that the leaf bud, must fall for Nature's a balance of checks. Winter speaks in a whisper her secrets in an attentive ear, and we must heed her restrained grumbles for 'tis her season. And as fall passes we feel small regrets, for the lost bouquets of summer. We plead, for spring's return without rhyme, nor reason. There are periodical divisions, in all we see. Seasons of bright visions. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |

EV, Loved it, but I got stuck on the image of the cool overflowing gutters and the linguistic songs (We live near the woods and seasonly clean those troughs by hand, and you're right-they are cold little rivers! Petite cold rivers over-spill gutters, and the robin sings his linguistic string, while with, "Thief, thief, thief," the blue jay mutters I can picture this well-good use of five senses. |
