Tis the holiday season, To spread joy, love, peace, and cheer. So many out there giving, This glorious time of year. "Santas" ring away, We drop our coins right in. Helping out where we can, Be it a stranger, family, or friend. We rush out to the stores, To buy gifts for those we love. Choosing just the perfect one, The one to fit just like a glove. Our homes we fill with joy, We hang garland, ribbons, and lights. Making everything ready, For that wonderful Christmas night. Even food's made special, As a great dinner we prepare. The scent of fresh baked goodies So often fills the air. Friends and family join us, They may come from near or far. Or we will visit them, No matter where they are. But the question that I have, I'm asking of us all. Why is it we rejoice, Only when Christmas comes to call? Should we only come together, once in every year? Or should the joy of family be a constant source of cheer? Should we help the ones in need Only when "Santas" ring their bell? Or would it help a little To give the rest of the year as well? Let's have love and peace, And somehow make it stay. So let's have joy this season, And keep it come next May. |
