What if these carved wings
were freed to flutter
ever so slightly
away from my body......

The Yangtze clay
from riverbed birthed
malleable
rich and alive

Molded to form
placed in the fire
submitting to passage
of shape desired

How my heart would sing
if freed to flutter
ever so freely
outside of my body......

Pray, vessels emerge then
ever so boldly
graced with a beauty
of purpose and love

I am clay......
