~*~ The dreamer in me is a fond memory pulling at my heart strings, where, oh where is the love. My chest rises and falls releasing an assortment of thoughts staggering through better days my breath comes in sighs and I am so tired of crying. Pieces of the past lie broken as I step over them to get where I'm going or where I would like to be always meaning to sweep them up another day when the dust settles. Perhaps when the spring time comes I will find a better way something of beauty to tend to and care for like a flower garden in the shade of the sun that continues to bloom after the summer is gone. In the meantime I look for a purpose a reason to believe in something more than this holding close to all that is dear to me rewriting the words I wish to convey. I've risked it all, and made so many mistakes but I lack the brevity to step outside of today. Instead I keep at arms length to protect the fragility of broken pieces. In time I shall sort through them and find a place to keep them out of harms way. But today, as the cold wind blows across my mind my heart strays, longing to be warm yet the frost blurs my vision, stinging my eyes through another long winter to recall. ~*~ ~revised version of the blues~ |

The third stanza is memorable. I liked the entire piece and it flows quite well, but the third stanza is special. |

Bluesy - you're too darn pretty to let those blue eyes cry those tears. They are blue, are they not? My best to you... BC [This message has been edited by Bill Charles (12-07-2003 10:53 AM).] |

“This was hardly worth a repost” On that point you are indeed mistaken my friend! From beginning to end this is magnificent, in my humble opinion! "A spring shower was cause to run |

yet the frost blurs my vision, stinging my eyes I haven't been able to keep the leash on my heart either, looking for a nice fire to warm it up but it is afraid to step inside and stretch out into the warmth. I'm with you... wait for spring and coddle the flowers "in the shade of the sun". You really do write so beautifully. I'm so impressed with your talent! Hugs Caroline the only man worth your tears will never make you cry |

"I've risked it all, and made so many mistakes" At times, it is the only way to live, to seize the meaning of life. Without risk there is only...age. |
