What road led to here I do not know Paved as it is with bits of broken mirrors, it cannot be followed back to a beginning I have arrived at its end with my bloody footprints leaving a stained-glass effect under a partly cloudy sky There is no one behind me on this life-long detour that snakes around normal existence The sign said Road Closed once the cuts began to bleed The more the red flowed the faster and harder I ran And now here I am not sure whether I am sorry or I am grateful for feeling the pain and for not knowing what road led to here © Caroline Rush Markham 2003 |

But couldn't you follow the red prints back to the sign that said road closed? And, from there, who knows where you could go... Great write -*-*- |

the road less taken... life is about the journey, I think pain can bring meaning.. to the joy, when you listen. Love it Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows |

Sometimes we need to "arrive" despite the pain that aches inside. So many nice lines in this, thank you Caroline! |
