tuesdays used to be ours
we'd sit out on your porch, breathe
or we'd sit up in your room
talking and holding pillows
your bed was the softest place
for our wits to clash
you called me a poet
and i called you everyday
i hugged my boots the day
you ignored me
you told me not to love you
because i would get hurt
but some 3am times
you would tell me you loved me
nighttime was for us
and daytime was for those
who were trying to hold us back
elements of the universe
we called them
and swore
we could beat them
and you used to make me
things in sleepy classes
with colors
that are fading now
i think i miss you most
on tuesdays

joy has its own justice. and dreams are languid and lawless. and everything bows to beauty, when it's fierce and when it's flawless...

A very powerful metaphorical piece. Like dried flowers in a book, this is a memory of the present.

Hey. Wow, that was powerful. The things that we associate with the past hurt so much in the present. This was really well done.

I like this tender write very much... especially these lines... they capture the mismatch in commitment. *S*

I just love how you wrote this.  It's so...so...familiar, I guess.  None-the-less, sad.  It says to me that you miss most during normal everyday times, like Tuesday.  That is the good stuff, isn't it?

Peace to you,  McLean
