What if tomorrow came and went
your composed messages were already sent
you had a chance to see where the latest invention lead
yet you still had no answers as to how certain talents fled...

from the face of the earth, before one was conceived
before conflicts created skepticism, some of us believed
that we had a mission to perform in order
to gain special favors
that we had habits to reform in order
to witness special saviors
Existance meant man would strive to place himself in the middle...
shall I remind you of Shlomo who contemplated life
on his fiddle..

He didn't get very far from his traditional roots
he had escaped his town in his well-worn boots
searched for a road to reason out his mottled existance
but the people he asked wouldn't give him a pittance...

He was a simple man in a shtetl village that wtnessed decline
his wife prodded him to repair the roof that once reclined...
that village became engulfed in a sea of modernization
Shlomo wouldn't improve his craft but chose procrastination.

He shied away from a tomorrow that already come and went
he looked for a message in a message long sent
had a chance or two to witness societal changes
but was still clueless on the limits of cultural ranges...
