A bonfire is lit, dispersing fingers of light,
Encompassing all who’ ve gathered there.
Voices shattering the silence of the night,
While stories and lives are calmly shared.

A glimpse into darkness shows an alone soul,
Perched stilly below a starlit maple tree,
Back slightly arched, arms neatly affold,
Gently grasping a hold of feeble knees.

Upon my arrival you quickly wipe your face,
And softly pat the cold ground at your side.
With a faded smile I quietly take my place,
Entwined with yours, my fingers slip and slide.

Deep into your eyes I dare to steal a glance,
And find myself lost within the voids of you.
My mind wondering off to worlds of chance,
And moments of affection left long overdue.

The sweet taste of your skin lingers upon my lips
As I kiss your tears and soothe your aching needs
Outlining your masculine face with my fingertips
I've come to realize that you’re the only one for me.
