Leave me in the rain
In the winding wind
And waving leaves.

Leave me to the smell of the earth
And sweet decay of the forest
Where only I can dance
Between and through the trees.

Leave me to the mirrors of nature
To look in and through
Worlds past.

And leave me tasting rainbows
Stretching from one flower to the next
Itty bitty kaleidoscopes
For itty bitty leprechauns.

Leave me in the rain,
The winding wind

To be anything
But lonely.

    Your poem was beautiful.  I especially liked this:

   Leave me to the smell of the earth

Interesting--sweet decay.  Yes, I suppose it could be...decay is softening,too.

   I enjoyed your imagery and movement very much.

KoKo, I love your writing! It is always so full of emotion and visuals. This poem is a feel-good poem and I like to be made to feel good!

this brings back memories of my childhood spent in the woods around our town...thank you..they were happy times.

(smiles) Awwwwwwww, I love this, sweet friend, I love it when it rains in the forests and the raindrops sound like pearls when they patter the leaves and streams, yay!
