My head was bowed, staring into amber oblivion My countenance was but a curtain of gray long hair obscured from everything outside my own blue aura Music, chatter, laughter all blended into a tasteless white noise so focused was I on a ring of glass that contained my evenings company and soon even that was diminished I was a girl wanting to be woman standing amongst false prophets eeking out existence for a smile and a drink maybe even a good game of pool laughing and smiling as if everything was just fine But, no one seemed to see nor care for that woman inside They loved the girl they saw the one who wanted to be woman |
