It all began as just a jest, If truth be told at her behest, A coyish smile, a shoulder’s dip, Then in reply a boyish quip. It is so hard to dial a phone As one listens to its tone, At least it was so long ago, How about a picture show? It seemed a mile or maybe more, Up the walk to her front door, How many times can one boy comb, His hair before the mirror back home? Looking back in retrospect, Leastways in my mind’s reflect, I had no vision of what would come, In ways of love, this boy was dumb. Did I answer what you seek? Of how your mother met a geek? No fairytale I must admit, That’s how we met, that’s all of it. Now what’s the deal with all the laughter, I told you truthfully what you were after, What’s that you say, you apologize, As me with hair you visualize. |
