I had my first clinical exposure yesterday in a small hospital here in the Philippines. I learned more from my patients than I expected. **************************************************** Through the Young Nurse's Eyes Upon makeshift beds covered in old, stitched blankets you hope to get well. The doctor spewed out a long list of drugs for you you can't even read. Your funds depleted The IV dripping, drip, drip How can you buy more? Young nurses arrive in uniforms shining white you thought they're angels. Cold, clammy fingers monitored your vital signs young intern's fist time. You smiled--weak, but sweet I smiled back, feeling helpless Wished I could do more. |

Thank you for sending us this unique poem. I love it when I'm transported to a different place. It sounds kind of tough there... ~Sadelite~ |
