Woman In Black

Come into my web of intrigue.
Let me spin you a tale.
Let the wind with her long fingers beckon you into the unknown.
Darkness fills the chilled air of midnight.
In the shadows a woman wrapped in a
hooded cloak of black moves as if she were a sheer wisp of smoke.
Listening-
You only hear the sounds of the lonely night
and the tapping of heels that echo into the silence of darkness.
She melds into the black shadows of darkness as if they were one.
You try to see beyond the cape and only see shadows
and invisible plains of blackness.
A faint flash of perfume invades your nostrils.
A gentle touch of the wind or is it the brush of hand that touches your heart on this chilling winter night?
Standing frozen in time
You watch as the apparition disappears into the swirling mist.
The only sound to be heard is the tap, tap, tap of heels echoing into theelusive darkness
of
shadows after midnight.
