Why does the night raise forth the past when boyish affections to a budding rose were but the longings of a child not yet a man? I contemplate within day’s gloaming, so many, many years in passing, so many, many years in radiant bloom, a life, my wife, proud mother to my children, grandmother to my daughter's son, within my heart, my ever beauteous rose. |

If you have never read the words of Dave Smith, I believe you would enjoy him. Now and then you remind me of him [or is it he reminds me of you?] The one book of his I have is The Wick of Memory but he has some 16 poetry books published, a few fiction, a couple of anthologies, etc. Happy Reading [on both sides, Sir!] |
