The smell and taste of coffee beans and I’m awake to all that’s new a child with hopes and wishes, dreams stares into air, a minute, two. With saddened heart I feel the tears from brim of eyes to unwashed cheeks and I ponder on the coming years, of life, of love, and being me. And I move towards a second cup an adult passed the growing stage bare and naked, no make-up, before life turns another page. Too soon the shower washes clean the taste within of needing you but still the smell of coffee beans follows me like shadows do. Another day to live, to say, I still dream the dream of yesterday! Helen -- What a wonderful poem. I, myself, began smelling coffee beans, in my own way, while reading this. .......hugs to you......jo |

Thank you, jo. Yes, I think coffee beans are here to stay like dreams that never go away. |

Helen...The fregrance of a time, or a person, always floods the memory. You are a special person, I think...I'm so glad to be able to read your poetry! |

Thank you, Dave. It is indeed an honour to be read. Hi, Martie. I suppose special is as special does but me, no, I merely walk around on the outskirts withdrawn perhaps from what sometimes appears to me as meaningless endeavours. But, hey, nothing's cast in stone in this bubble called a life and bubbles have a way of floating into space in search of the unknown. Take care! |
