Sandals In The Snow By: Noah Eaton 1/16/04 Look around, the moon is strewn on your sleeves The stars determining flourescent dreams, none of them appear as they seem Streetlights winky-dink stark fables, variegated negatives reeling away again, animated sedative, each still-frame a bit mystique. Crystal fields, marble pies, kite limericks, overriding my most beautiful dreams But the moon, I cusp it between my index and middle fingers, it's easy to look through it, impossible to imitate it, I don't understand it, I annoint myself in bergamot, graduate the night in admonition, but should I begin to burn slowly, I hope that you'll remember... I want you to remember... Laughing quietly, I can see through your ears Sandals in the snow, fortune rides Mittens in the summer, those weary eyes Strangers can see right through you, if they feel the texture in your eyebrows, chart the constellations of your freckles, make a map, proctract it across the parchment of your face, I find there's no one-way street, each moment a whole different tergiversation, here comes the current, my lungs are filled, looks like the medicine has done its job! You, I cannot perceive, You, I feel you've forgotten me, I've been baptized this second time, still can't remember why, but the moon doesn't lie, the moon is right... Laughing quietly, I can see through your ears Sandals in the snow, fortune rides Mittens in the summer, those weary eyes Look around, the moon is strewn on your sleeves The stars determining flourescent dreams, none of them appear as they seem It's hard to tell if you can see me naked, was I rewarded with grace, did I make it? That's not for me to judge, only the reminder, of parallel footprints, they were yours and mine... Laughing quietly, I can see through your ears Sandals in the snow, fortune rides Mittens in the summer, those weary eyes Laughing quietly, I can see through your ears Sandals in the snow, fortune rides Mittens in the summer, those weary eyes "You'll find something that's enough to keep you But if the bright lights don't receive you You should turn yourself around and come back home" MB20 |
